Meet the Blogger

I started this blog in late 2011 with the sole intent of writing stuff that I chose not to discuss with family and friends. This blog was my secret companion, private and hidden from people who know me.  I was in a crisis, so deep into a dark pit, so up to my neck with problems - but fighting to keep myself afloat. Writing, or shall I say blogging, in a way kept me company, and my sanity intact.

There were two things I was passionate about in high school: Reading and writing. I was a bookworm and I was a writer (or trying to be one). Reading and writing were my outlet, the two things I knew that made me peaceful and happy. I wrote stories, poems and whatever experiences I went through, good or bad. But then life took over and I completely forgot about writing… and reading, I just did on the side.  And so, when I was at my lowest and practically avoided discussions and confrontations, I turned to one of my passions… writing. I started to write whatever comes to mind - thoughts, feelings, interests, aspirations. Actually, practically everything except my opinions on war and politics (this blog will definitely not get into that.)

Things took a positive turn for me in late 2013 (and I could not be happier), and so, I decided to make this blog public, not for anything else but to share whatever I write with whoever is interested to read them.

AND NOW, I'D LIKE YOU TO MEET THE BLOGGER :)

You can call me Happy Mommy. My blog banner, however concise, already says a lot about me, but it also says "and a lot more." So, here's my more:

I believe in the supremacy of God and I am a faithful servant who listens to His promptings and admonitions, and relies on His generosity.

I am happily married to the love of my life, a good and generous man. I have four wonderful children, two girls and twin boys (As of this writing, my girls are 17 and 14, and the boys are 10).  I'm pretty happy just to be with my family - watching TV or movies with my kids, talking to them, playing with them, teasing them, scolding them, sharing make-up tips with my girls and talking about girls and anime with my boys. And equally happy just to be with my husband - talking about our day, our jobs, our interests, eating out, going for a massage, a walk, watching a movie, discussing politics, or simply cuddling in peace.

I’m a nature lover, a friend, a career woman who puts high premium on her work.  I enjoy writing, reading, watching movies, singing, dancing, scrapbooking, gardening, bowling, walking, traveling and eating.

I laugh very easily. I’m a person of integrity who values family, friendship and honesty.  BUT, a bit short on patience (shame, shame, shame – working on it, I promise!). I have very low tolerance for stupidity, lies, and tardiness.

I am a bit conservative about clothes, I love them but I don’t go for uber sexy, flamboyant, expensive, or designer body wrappings. I can be very feminine and wear dresses and skirts, but can be sexily rugged, too, and just wear jeans and form-fitting tops.  I’m a shoe-lover but someone who can definitely live without the killer heels, gladiators, and glitzy foot covers.  And I am crazy about bags, period.

Oh yes, I am a sucker for natural and organic skin care products. I love to go to a spa for a therapeutic deep-tissue massage and relaxing facial. I always try to live healthy by eating lots of fruits and veggies, sleeping early (hmmm, sleep and I, we battle a lot) and by exercising regularly - I love to walk early in the morning or after work.

I have a heart for environmental advocacies and I am aware of calls to help preserve Mother Earth, so I do what I can to help in my own little way (planting trees, proper waste segregation, conserving water, organic farming, etc).

When I retire, I dream of living in a house by the beach or a cottage in the forest until the end of my days.

So there you have it. I’d say that even at my age now, I am still a work in progress and I don’t stop learning. I relentlessly strive to improve myself by working hard to overcome some of my insecurities and build more confidence in my abilities.

Life is beautiful.

Be with me in my journey.
