I have decided to do something new and make some positive changes to the way I do things in the coming year. Of course I can start them now but it excites me to give these changes a timeline and see how far will I go and what sacrifices will I be willing to make to gain something good out of these exercises of the body and mind.
First off, I will try my hand at baking. Hahaha, I've always said, no one is too old to try something new. Since I don't own a conventional oven, I will do my baking in a turbo broiler. I just bought one, in fact I've already used it to broil my chicken on Christmas day. It turned out pretty well and I was happy with it. So baking cookies is my next project. I am going to start in January 2012. If I get so excited at the prospect of baking, I just might do it in the next few days before year end.
Second, I will do some walking exercise at least 3x a week. Hahaha, good luck to me on this one. I tried walking in November this year and it only lasted for a week. It took so much willpower to get up in the morning to do some walking. I hate rushing to work and since I live about 15kms away from the city, walking in the morning meant I really have to wake up very early so I didn't have to rush.
Third. I will be nice to myself. Much nicer than I am now. I will try very hard to take good care of myself and my self-esteem. How should I do this? I will stop hoping for any reconciliation with my ex and I will stop procrastinating. I will move forward, gift myself with something nice at least once every two months, go to a spa to pamper myself, meet new people, find time to read good books, go out with friends...
I think these are nice things to do at the start of the year... I will think of more really good stuff to do as the new year ushers in and as I settle and adapt to my new situation.
I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, career woman. On the side, I am a coloring enthusiast, trying hard gardener, struggling health buff, neophyte scrapbooker, nonprofessional blogger, tree hugger, and a lot more. Welcome to my quiet, unpretentious nook in cyberspace, the place where I translate nonspecific, personal, and sometimes inane thoughts into words, express my (in)significant views on things, document my stories of (mis)adventures and reflect and talk about life in general.
